If I bought a Garrett GT1752S would it directly bolt onto my Fiat Turbo? I see the turbo upgrade stuff from ATP but thats using the existing one.

I've been researching this as well, so I have the same question.

On similar note, does anybody know of a GTX series that would work? Is there any advantage to the GTX or would it just be overkill for the engine internals?

I would love to do a 2056 or maybe something slightly larger but someone would need to either come out with a new manifold or an adapter of some sort as those don't have the same mounting as our Stock turbo.

You could just modify the stock manifold to accept the flange from the new turbo.

Borg Warner has the the best turbo's on the market they are called EFR (). EFR means Engineering For Racing so what that means is they already come with a billet compressor wheel, low-weight Gamma-Titanium turbine wheels and shaft assemblies for quick boost response, stainless steel turbine housing for increased efficiency, improved durability and corrosion resistance, dual ceramic ball bearing cartridges for more thrust capacity, durability and turbine efficiency at low expansion ratios, supports 225 to 1,000 horsepower per turbocharger.

For the Abarth/500T the EFR6258 which is the smallest they make and would perform the best.

More info can be found in this PDF ()

*correction the EFR6258 with the standard .64 A/R Internally Wastegated has T25 flange only so no V-band option unless you go with the .85 A/R Externally Wastegated or Internally Wastgated turbine housing. ()

Does the manifold have to be changed with a GT1752S?

^i don't think it does. But worest case an adapter can be used. The other issue is the down pipe with some turbos. If the gt 1752s doesn't have the right flange then it is probably preferred over the 3versions of the gt2052 for the down pipe compatibility. I remember seeing that the gt1446 has a weird flange that it shares with ini turbos that fiat uses on some models. The gt1752s may be a similar situation and why these turbos differ from the gt12/gt15 or gt20 series as those series have turbos with near identical specs to the gt1446 and gt1752 respectively.

Will this %206258-A.pdf

be a direct bolt on.... how about the tune, will it work with EC tunes any phases...

Thanks

Not sure how EC would go about doing big turbo's. I do know that J & J Racing/RMW doesn't mess around with levels, phases, stages. They tailor every tune to each car, like a real tune should be done.

So any final answer? I think it is a direct bolt on, but I am unsure... It's like 300 bucks for a Garrett GT1752S turbo.... It's the old Saab 9-3 and 9-5 turbo

Highly doubtful. It would have already been done. Would be nice for there to be a less expensive/better option. A +1 upgrade for $1300+ is just silly.

J & J Racing will be releasing a modified stock turbo. NGEN will have one on their Abarth as well as Shagghie will too here soon.

Billet compressor wheel
Machined compressor housing to accommodate the new wheel
All new better CHRA (center section) internals
modified turbine and housing.

interested in the release, by j & j racing but the Garrett GT1752S turbo should be a direct bolt on if I'm not mistaken. It seems to be from everything I read, even in the past threads for the red forum... might be time for a Mighty car mod experiment. Turbo is like 200 new, set it up with new injectors and intercooler and I can grenade my engine after 1 run...
