Audi d Roadster Paris Confirms

Among the larger debuts this year is the reveal of the third generation of the TT sports car. After being presented to the public in March during the Geneva Motor Show, the model keeps the headlines with the Roadster version.

According to the guys at Car Advice, the head of interior design Artur Deponte has ended the rumors surrounding the open top’s presentation, confirming it for the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

“The TT has always had its brother, its relation in the roadster and it will debut in Paris,” said Delaponte, speaking on the sidelines of the coupe’s international launch.

With that issue set aside, we can concentrate on the hotly anticipated TT RS variant, which for sure won’t come next month as well but maybe we’ll get to see it faster than the rumored three years waiting period.

“We will bring an RS as well,” said Markus Siewart, TT’s technical project manager. “It’s obvious because it’s a successful car, people loved it, people ask for the new one. And why not? There’s not reason not to do it. It will be a five-cylinder, and it was a successful car for us, it was engine of the year several times. I can’t tell you about horsepower or kilowatts, but it will be more than [the outgoing TT RS].”

So, unlike the Porsche Boxster that’s ready to adopt a new four-cylinder flat boxer configuration to reduce consumption and CO2 emissions, the TT flagship will retain the odd 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged configuration seen in the second generation TT RS.
